Sassy Red!

As usual I have no idea what the name is but it's a bright OPI red. I love it! I decided to paint my nails last night right before school to match my red and black outfit. So I went with a quick Konad stamp on them. I will be taking it off tonight or tomorrow, because this weekend is my walk for breast cancer! That means pink nails, hair and clothes! So I'll be coming up with something fantastic I'm sure! But for now here is my current mani.........I even threw in a pic of my sad little nub!
Happy Painting!

Busy weekend!

Yeah!!!!!!!! My tips came in from Hong Kong! So of course I went to Hobby Lobby and found some sticks to put them on and got to work!
The picture is not really big enough to see, but Ford does a lot of work for breast cancer and my inspiration was their Ford Warrior symbols. You can find them at Fordcares.com

Each one of them has a special meaning. I am no artist, so I did the best I could. So this first pic is my version of breast cancer awareness nails. I will be working on getting better at these!

Then I decided to just play around with pink colors.

When I start something like this my brain just goes wild. I will start on one nail and while that's drying start another, then I'll forget what I was going to do on the first. Ok, so maybe that's my attention deficit, but I just decided to go with it....and this is what I got;

Then I decided to try out my new UV light, with a special UV top coat! My husband is so awesome!

I feel so professional now ;0)
However, my new 'manicure space' is a MESS!

So like I said, the weekend was busy and pretty productive I think.
I also earned some money for my fundraiser by putting in feather extensions at my cousin's baby shower. Woot!

That about sums up my weekend! I can't wait to get home and paint some more!

Cherry blossoms and CND!

Well I was able to finish the cherry blossom manicure last night. Can't say I was very pleased with it though. I used acrylic paints for the tips and it turned out kinda gunky! It was ok though.

It was fun, and lasted about an hour before I wanted to take it off. My hubby decided to get me an early birthday present.....6 bottles of CND polish! I was uber excited! I decided to try it out on my daughter, which is really hard to do on her sad un-manicured nubs. This is her favorite color!

I think he was going for shellac, but he ordered the wrong stuff! So that will probably come later ;)
The polishes in order:
Rouge Red
Electric Purple
Bicycle Yellow
Poppyfield
Creamy Cameo
Silver Chrome

I have to say the application is the best I've every tried. Smooth, great brush and depending on how you apply your polish, some of these look great with just one coat! Yes, ONE COAT! Vibrant colors! I can tell this brand is quickly going to become a favorite for me! I will start swatching them one day soon!
Until then, Happy Painting!

Pretties!

So I have been playing around with stamping. I have found that some polishes work better with stamping than others. But it's nice to know there are cheaper ones you can use besides Konad.
Here I used Konad white polish to stamp with, over China Glaze-Good Witch french tip:

Then yesterday I decided to play around some more with glitters and crackle:

I used the C-C-Courage and Good Witch from the Wizard of Ooh, Ahz collection by China Glaze, along with silver crackle by China Glaze. Fun, but not what I was looking for.
So today I put on a base coat for my cherry tree design. I'll blog the results later tomorrow ;)

Tonight is my one night 'off' during the week between my work, school and my daughter's sports! So I shall paint! Those moments of nail art enjoyment are getting fewer and farther between unfortunately. But I will always find time!

Happy Painting!

Konad stamping....

Ok, so it's not as easy as it looks! You have to have a steady hand, the right polish AND patience! I promise to practice until I'm not ashamed of my artwork any more ;)

And one day I will stop apologizing for my dry cuticles and just learn to oil them before pics ;) So this was my attempt to celebrate labor day weekend. I love this stamp!
The next pics were something for team spirit, for my daughter's volley ball game since I am score keeper. It looks black but the tips are a dark maroon.

I also did a manicure on my step mom who has the saddest little nubs. But she got real thin white tips with a floral stamp on her ring fingers. It was beautiful! Sorry I forgot a pic! But she will be getting another one next time they are in town. And I won't forget pics!
I'll blog after the weekend because I really want to show off my new China Glaze 'Wizard of Ooh and Ahz' collection!
Happy Painting!

New Arrival!

Well I received a few packages the other day! Two of them were just stickers, which I didn't take pics of. The other package was my micro beads! I was so excited to play with them that I tried them out today....it was a huge fail! They bleed color onto the nail! No good! I will try a few other colors but I'm not impressed. The picture is kinda blurry, but here it is :(

As you can see this made me sad.
Here is the wheel. I guess that's what I get buying from Hong Kong.

So I will sit here and patiently wait the rest of my deliveries...and hope they hold up better than this.

On a good note, I added a few more colors to the polish family!
This is 'CROWN ME ALREADY' by OPI. I bought this because it has beautiful round chunks of silver in the small glitters. I love it!

This one is by EssEnce, called 'ITS PURPLICIOUS' and I bought it for the mixture of large and small glitter as well.

As soon as I try these beauties I will post pics! That's all for today, but expect some awesomeness over the weekend, because I feel like painting!

Happy Labor Day and happy painting!
