Happy Halloween!

I know I said I was gonna stamp like crazy this weekend, but for some reason the little kiddos were the only ones that got their nails painted! Most of the adults weren't interested. Unfortunately those little bitty nubs are almost impossible to stamp on, so the stamps I tried out were not worthy of pictures ;)
However, when I got home yesterday I had to do my own nails! I have seen a lot of layering with the stamps so I had to try it. My favorite one is the thumb, I have clouds in the background and trees on the bottom with a witch flying through the air. I also like the spider with the sparkly red dot on her back. Sorry the pictures didn't come out real well, but you get it right?

The silver clouds, cross and spider web are the CND silver. For all of the black images I used Konad special black polish and for the trees and house I used a Sally Hansen Insta Dry, Mocha Chino...or something like that.
I have not yet perfected the placement of the stamps yet. I also need to be a little more patient before putting on my speedy top coat because I smeared some of the images. But I'm still learning!
Hope you enjoyed!

Bubble nail art!

As you know, I love YOUTUBE! It's a great source for my creative outlet! Well I found a cute nail art I wanted to try, and I love it! I could have done some better detailing, and my right hand is always a little sloppy, but over all I am getting a lot of compliments on it. I got this from 'IHaveACupcake' (look up bubble nail art *halloween colors*) and she does some great work! Please check her out on Youtube.
I used Sally Hansen 'Coco a-go-go' for my base color. Then I used acrylic paints to make the dots.

It was real fun, and now my daughter wants to pick colors so I can do it for her!
So thanks 'IHaveACupcake!'

On another note, I wanted to brag a little ;) I adopted a beautiful Siamese cat from a shelter back in June. She had 3 month old babies, and was very unhealthy. I want to show you what she looked like when I got her.............

She was so sad and skinny. Very skiddish and hid all the time.
Now...........

....she runs TO you instead of FROM you. She loves attention and she loves her new family. I have to say, we were not really cat people before. I can't even tell you what got into me when I saw her picture. I didn't even know she had babies, so when I got there and questioned it they offered me one of the babies instead. Of course for what ever reason I HAD to have her. She is such a blessing, so I had to share! Thanks for reading!

MORE Halloween nails!

Well I really can't keep a mani for more than 2 days! I have re-painted my nails 3 times this weekend and I am positive this one won't last past tomorrow night!
I have purchased several new bottles of polish this Halloween season! Sometimes I have to really stop and think before I purchase....do I really need ANOTHER bottle of polish? Don't I have one that looks like this at home? But somehow I manage to buy it anyway! Shhhhh, don't tell the hubby! Anyway, the first mani was a fun one, and I might have kept it for a while if I weren't worried about getting a call for an interview soon (I wish). I started with Sally Hansen Fantasy Makers, Black Magic. It's a black polish with teen tiny glitters. If your not in direct light it can be hard to see the glitter, so I layered 2 coats of Sally Hansen Pumpkin Spice on top. Pumpkin Spice has a light black jelly base, but tons of orange glitters in it. Then I topped it all off with Seche Vite. Sorry, the pictures don't show how sparkly it was!

I actually wore this all day Friday and Saturday and it never chipped!
Sunday I got bored watching the Texans kick Dallas butt and decided to do a full pedi and new mani! So I decided to match my toes to my new favorite Yellow Box flip flops and go for the pink bling! Don't remember the name of the polishes, but I don't usually show off the feet anyway ;) It's hard to get a picture because my toes curl real bad on that foot ever since I shattered my heel.

Yuck.........toes..........sorry about that.

So, I decided to let the hubby pick a color.
Me: Honey, pick a color, any color!
Hubby: Uhhh.....something fluorescent.
Me: Really?
Hubby: I dunno, something bright.
Me: Ok.

Weird because he usually doesn't like those colors. But I went for it. So I chose Sally Hansen Insta Dry, Lickety-split Lime. Really bright! Then I chose Blazing Blue to stamp with. I found that the Sally Hansen Insta Dry colors work really good in place of Konad 'special' polish. The tips were Konad plate M45.
Please don't laugh. I really am trying to learn how to stamp, I just can't seem to get them straight!

Ok, the last picture with the blobs on one nail are me trying to put stitches on the nail. And I think it could have worked had I used a thinner brush. Like I said folks, still learning!

So of course I decided that just wasn't going to work, since I am anticipating a phone call from my perfect future employer, who will want to meet with me right away.....minus the green nails.
I went with another SH polish, Quick Brick. I really like the way these polished go on smooth and they really do dry fast! So I used konad 'special' white polish and plate #M36, then embelished with rhinestones. Unfortunately it tends to chip too quick. Oh well.

Tomorrow....another day, another polish!
I made an order today with Bundle Monster! I am so excited! I ordered the 25 plate pack AND the 21 plate pack! Oh the choices I'll have!
Until then, Happy Painting!

Tea bag patch!

Ok, so I don't really want to give credit to one person here. If you go to youtube (my favorite place for tutorials!) you will find that many people do this and in many different ways. This is how I do it.
I start with super glue

An empty tea bag,

and a nail buffer.

I cut a small piece of the tea bag to place on top of the crack.

I then place a drop or two of glue on the square and as it dries I tap it down with the end of a paperclip so the edges dry flat to the surface.
It looks real bad, but here it is after it dries:

When it is completely dry, and I mean completely, I start buffing it down. Sometimes I add more than one square, and when I do it's pretty thick. In that case I will start with a course buffer to level it out. But usually a very fine buffer works well. You don't want to thin out your nail so be careful to buff just the glued area.
This is what my final product looks like:

I works for me! I will paint them this weekend and you will see that you can't even tell!
Thanks for checking it out!
Happy Painting!

Another quicky!

A lot of times right before I go to school at night I paint my nails. Not sure why, when I know they won't be dry. But Wednesday I decided to put on some silver glitter tips with my striper. Unfortunately it was kinda goopy and didn't cover like I wanted it to so I decided to hide that with rhinestones. Again, not sure why because I know I can't stand a hand full of those annoying little things, but I did.

Of course by the time I got back home I already lost 3-4 rhinestones. I tried really hard to keep it on, but yesterday I popped them all off at work. It's really not something I can handle....kinda like having a ring on every finger. Anyway, back to the goopy striper, I don't understand why the stripers all get thick quickly. Ok, not all of them, but the ones I use MOST. Black, white and silver glitter! I even put a thinner in them but it didn't work.
I will try to add some more, but I may just need a new bottle.
Hope you like!
Later I am posting steps on how I patched a crack in my nail!

Happy Painting!

Halloween Craze!

I usually am on a pink craze in October, but for some reason all I can seem to come up with is Halloween designs! I have done a LOT in the past few weeks, so I have a lot to show! I also had my fundraiser last weekend......that we won't talk about, but I will show the pictures from the TWO girls that came. I forgot to take them so they sent me a pic.

That's all I have to say about that.

So, I keep getting stuck on the color orange for some reason. But here are a few pics of my latest designs.

Then I was totally inspired by a Halloween design from JaeMarie2008 on Youtube and decided to try it out on my already orange nails:

Now, mine wasn't nearly as pretty as hers, but I loved it! For some reason every time I start trying to do details on my nails I get all shaky :(
I also tried one more design just because I wanted to see the color on my nails!

I also have yellow toe nails with a spider web on the big toe.....not even going to pretend it's picture worthy! I'll figure out something else and take a pic when it is ready!
I guess that's all for now. Happy Painting!
